The wide golf course "Auf der Gsteig", named after the former farm "Auf der Gsteig", whose agricultural parts were rebuilt to a modern clubhouse with all necessary facilities, is located in the Swabian - Upper Bavaria's Alpine foothills, northwest above the village "Lechbruck am See" and south of the Bernbeurer Echerschwang districts. Situated in the heart of the holiday landscapes of "Ostallgäu", "Auerbergland" and "Pfaffenwinkel", which offer just one of the most beautiful regions of our country. The view of the Bavarian, the Allgäu and the Tyrolean Alps, the picturesque landscape embedding the village "Lechbruck" with the river Lech and the green hills of the Allgäu region with its typical individual farms, all will nearly let you forget to play golf.
Surrounded by mature trees and rear stock, natural relief of typical Allgäuer Alps landscape, here consists an 18 hole golf course with a total area of 96 hectares, which forces players of all levels and abilities. From active play, there are only 40% of the area affected. The remaining areas stay for conservation of nature. During the planning and approval phase, the ideas and wishes of the nature conservation authorities, as well as the requirements of the landscape plans of the municipalities of Bernbeuren and Lechbruck were considered and incorporated into the planning. The landscape architect Ms. Judith Schumacher from Landsberg presented in collaboration with the technical golf advisor Josef Leinauer from Peiting a sulution to unite a high standard golf course with environmental aspects.
The good quality of the Green's is attributed due to the extremely complex design, called Cellsystem. The Cellsystem is a water-saving system (about 80% less water than conventional systems), similar to a hydro-culture, which were built under the construction management of the turf specialists Josef Leinauer from Peiting on the entire 18-hole facility, with all greens and tee boxes.
With the "Steinbock-Cup" tournament on June 29th 2002, we celebrated the official opening of the 18 fairways.
